  4. Surgical repair within 48 hours of hospital admission.
  5. Operation undertaken by experienced surgeons and anesthetists.
  6. High-quality communication between clinicians and allied health professionals.
  7. Early mobilisation is key.
  8. Planning for discharge required.
  9. Measures taken to prevent secondary falls.
  10. Continuous audit to inform and improve management of these patients.
